A film much better than its original with amazing character development, a fantastic heart and some of the best cinematography. You can tell that this film is Snyder ‘s baby. The action is grand, the characters are compelling and I can honestly say the Snyder fans are proud.

When Zack Snyder was shooting Justice League, and he reportedly shot a four-hour epic film, though I’m not sure whether it was going to be one film split into two. The point is, it’s a four-hour tale that he had to abandon due to his daughter’s tragic death. Warner Brothers, on the other hand, decided to bring in Joss Whedon, who came in and cut a 4-hour film into a 2-hour film, and even rewrote several scenes, refilmed others, and replaced them with Joss Whedon humour, which evidently involves the Flash falling on Wonder Woman’s breasts, which Gal Gadot declined to perform and was replaced with a stunt double. That was what we got in 2017, but now, thanks to a large movement of hashtags and debates, as well as plane carrying a ‘Release the Snyder Cut’ banner flying around Comic Con, Zack Snyder was able to finish postproduction on his version of the film and release his original vision Titled “Zack Snyder’s Justice League”, which was indeed a better film than the 2017 theatrical release. There’s a difference between having a movie thrown together very quickly for the sake of moving on because he had to make this movie as short as humanly possible and there is storytelling. You see deeper character relations and development among the Justice League, which makes you feel like this theme of them coming together isn’t just stopping the bad guy for the sake of stopping the bad guy.

For the last act of the movie everyone had a purpose, everyone had a reason to be there. It also seems like a lot of scenes that I wasn’t sure what to make of before now have more context to them.

And yes, it is a 4:3 ratio, your screen isn’t messing up that is how its suppose to be. It might feel a bit weird in the beginning but you’ll get used to it. I, for one, enjoyed it.

Zack Snyder’s Justice League is not only vastly superior to the version released in theaters, but also one of the most genuinely epic WB films to ever grace the superhero genre. It is both the champion of the DC Extended Universe and the magnum opus of its director’s filmography, from Fabian Wagner’s absolutely stunning visuals, Tom Holkenborg’s majestic musical score, marvelously crafted action set-pieces, fast but smooth pacing, wonderfully formed characters, and a grand but intimate and profoundly heartfelt tale.

Also, Zack Snyder wasn’t kidding when he said Ray Fisher was the heart of the movie. I also want to mention how wonderful it was to see more of JK Simmons’ Commissioner Gordon, and how fantastic Batman and the Joker’s interaction and dialogue were in the film. Mera’s random British and Australian accent that comes and goes is one problem I have with the film.

Zack Snyder says he won’t give up hope for a Justice League sequel. After the success of HBO Max’s Synder Cut, which had one of two outcomes; become a resounding success and set a tantalizing precedent, or be a huge flop, potentially dooming all future fan campaigns.

Anyway, after some analysis, it was assumed that this is what Zack Snyder’s sequel and Kightmare sequence will look like;

Darkseid comes to Earth. Superman says to Batman, “Guard Lois. This is a war between me and Darkseid. If you can help me as a friend, keep Lois safe.” In the midst of these alien attacks, Luther aligns himself with the invader. “Lex tells Darkseid that the key to Superman’s weaknesses is killing Lois Lane”.

Darkseid comes back and kills Lois. Batman fails, he hesitates. They were in an argument.

“The truth is that the ‘Kightmare Sequence’ in this movie, it was my idea that all of that would eventually be explained -is that a surprise?” the director said. “And that we would end up in the distant future where Darkseid has taken over Earth, and where Superman has succumbed to the Anti-life equation. And there were few members of the Justice League that survive to that world, and that they were fighting, Batman and a broken half of cyborg -there’s only half of him because of whatever happened- they were working on an equation to jump back to tell Bruce…those were the things that we were dealing with. And the studio, they were still sort of into the big look, but the deep depth about how and why everyone was mad at each other…

I was right here, and Barry Allen came to me and he said ‘Lois Lane is the key.’ And then Wonder woman goes, ‘She is to Superman; every heart has one.’ And he goes, ‘I think it’s something more, something darker.’ And what it means is that thing is that was darker was all about if Lois died, Superman would succumb to the Anti-life right? And Superman knew that somehow it was Bruce’s responsibility to protect Lois, he would’ve been mad at him in this movie, and that’s why he says, ‘She was my world, and you took her from me. Then he, Bruce, had to jump back right before Darkseid Boom Tubes into the Batcave to murder Lois.”

Darkseid and Steppenwolf story was strong and great. Steppenwolf for one, was a much more interesting bad guy, with a lot more personality than he did in the 2017 version. You understand that Steppenwolf has fallen out of favour with Darkseid and wishes to reclaim his place in his good graces.

I loved the Flash; the character, his story, the actor and his character development in the movie was good but it felt closer to a Spiderman – Ironman relationship instead of a Flash – Batman relationship.

The new Joker is quite interesting, not a favourite but a new approach to the same product…but I loved his lines. The signature line, ‘We live in a world…’ was all Jared Leto’s idea and I must say a smart one at that. It’s unfortunate cut was staggering, I was waiting for him to say it, but the Joker and Batman had a mature conversation that included something about Harley and the Boy Wonder’s death. Brillant!

The movie had many unnecessary scenes, maybe a three-and-a-half-hour movie would have been enough but I felt Snyder wanted to give us as much as he could without making it too much at the same time, we’ve waited for this longer after all, might as well get as much footage as we can.

The final battle scene was awesome. The moment when they walked out of the plane as a united team was awesome!

The movie didn’t feature 6 promised scene that I was kind of looking forward to;

  1. The Tanagarians
  2. The Real Doomsday
  3. The Deathstroke fight scene in Arkham
  4. Zack said the movie would explore Robin’s death and give us new info on that.
  5. Desaad’s history lesson.
  6. Ryan Reynold’s return as Green Lantern.

I’m not complaining; I just wanted to point it out. Nevertheless, I understand how difficult it was for Zack Snyder to make it without receiving any money from WB, and he did it solely for the fans. Since not all of the actors returned for reshoots and such, he made do with what he had.

I’m hoping this isn’t a one-off and that WB isn’t finished with that universe, or at least Snyder’s version of it, because it seems to be building toward bigger things, and I believe now is a good time for DC to reveal those bigger things. Initially, they were attempting to catch up to Marvel, but now that the MCU has completed their Thanos epic, I believe there is a strange power vacuum, and it is now DC’s turn to show us what they have. And I hope for sequels because it’s set up for them, and I’m looking forward to seeing Zack Snyder’s Justice League part 2.

Superman as a character is a household name. No normal person should say that they haven’t heard the name. He’s one of the first superheroes ever made and is a character known to be overpowered in every sense of the word.

A lot of people view superman as a character that is “The perfect hero” just as he is portrayed, that could not be further from the truth.

Firstly, let’s discuss the fact that Superman as a character has too many powers. From super breathing to super looking, super aging breath, super kissing, hypnosis, telekinesis and more, it appears Superman has an array of very stupid powers, some that make you sit down and think “Did someone actually sit down and create such a power?”.

Take for example the Super kissing ability; how possible is it for Superman to apply such an ability in fights? Does he just run up to Someone like Lex Luthor and give em a big kiss? Well, not unless he wants Lois to hunt him to the ends of the Earth.

People likes powerful characters, but what happens when you make your character too strong?  Lemme answer that question; You get Superman :(.

If you ask a group of normal people whether or not they believe Superman is strong, it wouldn’t be strange for a number of them to claim, with full confidence that he is the strongest.

This is an opinion based on the way Superman has been portrayed to the General public: “A superhuman that beats everything in his path for the sake of justice”, it just doesn’t get any cornier than that.

It is a rather well-known fact to comic fans that Superman is by no means the strongest character or Superhero in DC Comics, but it isn’t something a normal person would believe when told based on the fact that they’ve only been shown the good side of Superman, which has given him this false sense of godhood in their minds.

Well I don’t blame some people. I mean, there was that whole god thing with Superman Prime that he did when he stayed in the sun for a long time but I don’t wanna talk about that.

Is Superman a mortal? Of course he is. Then why doesn’t he stay dead 🙁

Comic fans hold your tongues cause I’m gonna be talking about the problem with why Superman is actually a mortal who’s immortal.

As I mentioned above, Superman is a character that gets killed (Hey, its comics. Deal with it.) and revived. resurrected? whatever you wanna call it. This also contributes to the previous point made about him being an overpowered character.

Its actually quite annoying to see a character who is deemed a mortal die time and time again and still be able to get up like nothing’s happening and this seems to be a recurring thing with Superman.

It actually contributes to the concept of him being a trashy character. I mean if you’re gonna set rules, at least follow them yourself.

Superman is the last kryptonian. I find it hard to believe that anyone who was in his position would just be fighting crime across both the world and galaxy without a care in the world if they knew they were an endangered species.

This is something that I believe should be on Superman’s mind a lot of the time as he should think of what would happen to the world if he was ever to retire or die (We all know that’s not gonna happen anytime soon) and he should also think of preserving his species.

I know he does indeed have at least 1 child with lois at a certain point in time but I felt it was something that happened a little too late.

It is possible that because he knew that his cousin Kara (Supergirl) was alive and kickin’  on Earth that he felt no urgent need to procreate as he realized he was not the only person on Earth who could help with the preservation of his species but looking at the way Kara acts, its possible she doesn’t pay it as much mind as he does.

These are some of the things I believe make Superman a trashy character. I get that the character is incredibly popular and I’m not saying that’s wrong, its just that these were the things that I felt were flaws with the design of the character.

Well, i guess it isn’t all bad. I mean, if we didn’t have all these the superman that’s known and loved, today would be a completely different world.

WB Games montreal recently teased the development of a new Batman game and as things stand now, it seems we are going to be seeing a lot from the court of owls.So who are the court of owls?let’s find out!

The court of owls were an ancient organization that controlled Gotham from the shadows for centuries. They possessed a breed of assassins called Talons whom they employed to do their dirty work.

The court was headed by some of the most powerful and influential people in Gotham and are in fact a branch of a worldwide organization called the Parliament of owls. The parliament also descended from a more ancient organization known as the Tribe of Judas.

The order has had one purpose since it’s founding, to bring forth the being who would come to be known as the Batman who laughs. In return they would rule the world alongside Barbatos, the bat god worshiped by the tribe of Judas.

The organization was however betrayed when the robins of Batman who laughs  murdered their leaders and seemingly destroyed them. Despite been nearly wiped out some remnants of the court remain …. scheming, plotting and planning their return.

The world of comics can get pretty dark and pretty gritty at times and when it gets so you usually find only the baddest and Stone-hearted survive. Today we are looking at some of the most ruthless black comic characters of all time.

Now note these people are not necessarily evil , but just don’t cross them, they’ll make you regret it in ways you could never imagine.

Don’t mess with Erik Killmonger, he will beat the crap out of you, take your throne and throw you off a waterfall all the while grinning while doing it! Oh you don’t believe me? Don’t say I didn’t warn you!!

She didn’t receive a nickname like the wall for nothing, she’s cold calculating and will do whatever it takes to complete the mission, that includes blowing your brain into pieces if  she has to. Just ask the dedicated members of task force X, they will be more than happy to give you the rundown!

The man with the entire marvel universe on his shoulders, Nick has seen it all. Hard as nails and always on point, Nick will lose an eye if it means reaching his goals. Did you just say what? I dare you to say what again, in fact I double dare you!!

Look if you want to die a terrible death, just tick off this fellow and I guarantee you will die a terrible death. I mean this guy’s got vampires running scared… you really want to get on his bad side….like really bruh?

You thought the last four guys were bad news. This guy gives the devil  a reason to stay up at night, literally! Now if the whole demon skulls as cloak pins did not get the message across let me put it in plain terms, if you ever see this guy anywhere for any reason just make it like a Banana and split! Period!!!

Goku is without a doubt one of the most powerful Anime characters to ever exist. Dragon ball super ended not too long ago once again having Goku exceed his previous limits and mastering his Ultra instinct technique.

I believe it’s safe to say that he’s currently more powerful than he has ever been in the history of the franchise….nothing screams that more loudly than that last fight with Jiren…. and it is for this reason that we the guys at RP have put together a list of the top 5 black characters we think will put the beatdown on his ultra instinct ass!

First up on our list is Mosaic. Morris Sackett was a professional basket ball player until he encountered the Inhuman’s terrigen mist. He himself been of inhuman heritage, exposure to the mist altered his physiology which is now primarily composed of some sort of unknown energy. Though espionage is more of his thing and he’s not really much of a heavy hitter he has the queer ability to seize control of the bodies of others, an ability that Goku has encountered in some form when he faced captain Ginyu of the Ginyu 5.

If that encounter is any indicator then Goku really does not have any defense against an attack of this calibre which is why we firmly believe he has the advantage. Then there’s the fact that he doesn’t even have a physical body for Goku to put the hurt on. In the end it really wouldn’t be an impressive fight but Morris is likely to pick up the win.

Abram Adams, a Russian cosmonaut who embarked on a 30 year mission of space exploration. During his mission he and his comrades arrived in a place dubbed “the unknownAfter interacting with the environment he acquired powers of a god.His power allows him to bend time and reality to his very will. This unfortunately for Goku would also not turn out to be a very fair fight, considering the fact that Adams could play ping pong with his molecules I don’t really see how he’s going to pull a win over him but then again that’s just what we think.

3.Blue Marvel

Adam Brashear was a marine prior to developing powers. After been exposed to radiation which made him a stable conduit for anti matter he took to the streets as a superhero. He’s without a doubt one of Marvel’s big guns going toe to toe with the likes of the hulk and Thor. This would be a fight I’m sure even Goku would enjoy and it’s one I would definitely like to see.

Coming in at number 3 is Icon. One of the heavy hitters in the DC universe, Icon over the years has proven himself a force to reckoned with. He has even held his own against the likes of superman, fighting him to a standstill at one point in time. Goku will definitely have his hands full with this one and it will be a fight for the ages.

Coming in at number one is no other than Al Simmons …the hell spawn himself. A former agent for the central intelligence agency Al was murdered during a mission. Upon arriving in the fiery pits of hell he strikes a deal with the being called Malebolgia and returns to earth as a Hellspawn. He would go on to fight the forces of Heaven and Hell defeating and eradicating their armies at a certain point. This will most certainly be a fight worth the buck and if Goku does stand a chance of any sort I would really like to see how he pulls the win.

It’s no secret that 2018 has been the year of Wakanda. That said though the movie featured quite a number of notable black panther villains it most certainly could not feature all of them. Now in no particular order here is Rookiepencil’s list of Black Panther villains you need to know.

Coming in at number five is the White Wolf. For those of you who don’t know him Hunter a.k.a White Wolf was adopted by T’chaka the then black panther and father to T’challa after his parents died in a plane crash in the African nation of Mohannda. Despite the hate he suffered at the hands of xenophobic Wakandans due to the fact he was a foreigner he developed a love for Wakanda which resulted in T’chaka appointing him head of the Wakandan secret police the Hatut Zeraze. Upon ascending the throne T’challa disbanded the organization this act along with the already existing jealousy Hunter had for T’challa resulted in a bitter rivalry and Hunter been one of T’challa’s most capable adversaries.

During T’challa’s time in Hell’s Kitchen he had many adventures and encountered numerous foes. Amongst them was the brutal and sociopathic American Panther. At first glance he looks like what you get when black panther and captain America get together to try and kill time but unfortunately for T’challa when they met this guy wasn’t exactly on the sunny side of sanity. After witnessing his dad’s murderer who also happened to be his mother’s lover elude justice due to some “legal technicality” as a kid, he developed some apathy towards foreigners in general and his job as a cop didn’t quite help. Though his intentions were noble his brutal tendencies and interaction with hate monger led to him and T’challa going at it. He was imprisoned afterwards and hasn’t been heard from since.

He’s quite the looker isn’t he? Well you know that saying “don’t judge a book by it’s cover”? Well that doesn’t apply with this guy. According to urban legend….yes he’s got an urban legend….He was a farmer who tended to rebels fleeing a neighboring country and suffered miserably for his kindness. Not only did the rebels seduce his wife, they also stabbed him 32 times and left him for dead.He survived by selling his soul to Mephisto and went on to kill all those who had interacted with his wife stabbing them 32 times. This guy would go on to give T’challa a lot of trouble, even managing to seize control of Wakanda at one point……Sheesh talk about an attitude adjustment!

Another troublesome fellow, Tetu was a pupil at a wakandan academy who retreated to the wilderness in search of knowledge he failed to find among men. he returned with the power to control the forces of nature and decide to use his newly found power to punish those he believed preyed on the little men of Wakanda. He formed a revolutionary movement known as the people and attempted to over throw T’challa as King. Though he failed his actions eventually contributed to Wakanda going democratic. Last we heard of him he was joining Hydra.

Another one of T’challa’s half brothers….for some reason they’re always trying to kill him…. Jakarra after the death of his father T’chaka arrived in Wakanda in search of  his birthright. It didn’t take long for him to fall in with the outcasts of the Hyena clan. He stabbed himself with Vibranium and eventually exposure to it’s radiation turned him into a hideous monstrosity that has plagued T’challa since.

Lagos comic con is one of the biggest if  not the biggest geek event in Africa. In numerous ways Lagos comic con personifies the growth of the industry thus far. This years event turned out to be quite successful as the numerous cosplayers present would testify. It was truly a cause for elation. Comics were bought , comics were sold , geeks had the time of their lives and it was a blast!

Bottom line this years Lagos comic con was awesome but ….you probably saw the but coming….amidst all the excitement there was one little detail some of us may have failed to take notice of and that is the presence of an alien publishing house that might change the course of this industry’s history.

This year’s event saw one America’s big players visiting, and though they may not have been one of the two major heavy hitters of the American industry Valiant’s presence at the con heralds a new phase of the rising industry.

Valiant arriving on the scene indicates that the industry growth is affirmatively substantiated and that observers from far off lands recognize the opportunities and potential present in this rising industry.

That said it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that they want a piece the pie and that means competition , more competition in this already tense contest. This could also signal possible investments for the numerous young startups present but should that occur it is also likely to result in the future acquisition of these startups by bigger more stable American companies.

Though this is merely hypothetical but should it happen what we would find in the end is an industry swallowed up by the already mature and stable American industry. The facts are most of the African startups don’t have the money to keep their operations running in the long term and the American industry has currently hit a slump meaning American publishers are looking for new consumers.

Valiant is already making a play at the market here and I reckon it won’t take long for others to follow suit. That said this was to be expected but what it also means is that local publishers are going to need to work extra hard to reap the benefits of what they started, to do that they will need the help of the locals but more than ever they will need to reinvent the game.

The simple fact is , you cannot beat the American’s at their own game, so you create your own game ….something that honestly speaking most local publishers are struggling to do..It is either we create a new standard, a new format , a new genre or we get swallowed up by the coming wave!
